The Senses
Certainty dwindled
As the sun’s light faded.
When the moon rose,
The heart pounded
Against its cage.
The bare feet sopped up
The warmth from the ground.
As the body swayed,
The cool spring breeze stroked its skin.
When the circular thoughts stood still,
There was silence.
In the stillness,
The eyes saw beauty,
The mind found calm
But the heart still ached.
It longed for dreams
The mind had dreamt.
It yearned for the sweetness
The tongue had tasted.
It craved the joy
The ears had heard.
It wished to breathe
Freely and effortlessly
Like the lungs.
