It dug a hole and threw me  in. 

The darkness surrounded the hope my heart had carried and slayed it.

My mind forgot how to dream.

My soul forgot how to soar.

Barred from life,

My body began to wither

I fought

And  I was silenced.

I  pleaded

And I was ignored. 

Time moved forward 

But for me it stood still.
