Twinkle twinkle little star.
It seemed somewhat bizarre
To watch you from afar.
I had plucked you once from the clearest of night skies.
I had moulded and cradled you then called you mine.
As the doubt crept in,
My mind wandered.
As it lingered,
Questions subdued the present.
The star lost its shape
And doubt along with worry dyed it grey.
Twinkle twinkle little star
How I mourned what you were.
